i was wondering if my Pc was a good budget gaming pc and can play VR the specs are:
amd athlon 860k
gtx 1050
8 gb ram
F2A68HM-HD2 GIGABYTE motherboard
cit 500 watt psu
if it can be inproved with £100 what should i get for it

Solution

i would recommend at least a 1060 to be going into vr gaming and definitely a different cpu maye a cheap i3 skylake 6100 and obviously you will need to get a different mobo with that but for a little bit of normal gaming i would say it would get the job done but maybe not on heavily cpu based games like gta 5 for instance

1050 can't do VR, and that CPU definitely can't do VR.

You need at least a 1060 (£200)
And a i5 4590 (Also around £200)
Not to mention you would also need a motherboard upgrade for an Intel processor, which would add almost £100, more or less.

This is according to NVIDIA.

I have seen i3 perform very well with vr at a decent fps for vr any way getting an i3 6100 or an i5 6600 or a 6600k would be a great choice though especially with the k version so you could get even more fps

but even if it will fail he can see how close he is to not failing, which might help.
