i7-920
p6t asus motherboard
gtx 660 OC

I mainly use my PC for Photoshop and gaming, ( not really high end gaming)
my budget is around £250 help is greatly appreciate also if possible i would like to stick to Intel so an i5 would be good.

Hi if your mobo is good for overclocking you could get the intel xeon x5660 6 core 12 thread cpu and overclock it to around 3.5 ghz. should be a good performance increase for only 50 pounds.

Confirm compatibility with mobo but it should work.

Or you could look for the cheapest core i5 3570k mobo cpu combo and overclock that.

Honorable
7th gen, you'll need RAM. Oveclocking motherboards are expensive in UK and you can't get it for 250.

CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£188.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: Asus PRIME B250M-K Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£70.50 @ More Computers)

4th gen, without buying RAM. Again, can't get an overclocker for 250.

These suggestions look good. I'm not really that bothered about overclocking anyhow. if i were to go up to. £300 lets say. what more would I get and would it be worth it ?

For me, this seems like a good option as it gives me abit of room to possibly upgrade other things within my budget, would there be a motherboard i could get that's ATX instead of micro ? Also do you feel this would be a good upgrade comparing to what I have right now. I really appreciate your help.

I really appreciate your help. Sorry for changing my mind but if to say I would change my budget to £300 would I be able to get a newer I5, ddr4 ram and a mobo for roughly that much ? Something like
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Core-Skylake-Processor-i5-6500/dp/B010T6CWI2/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1485983889&sr=1-1&keywords=i5
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CT8G4DFS8213-Single-288-Pin-Memory/dp/B00MMLUZ2I/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1485983921&sr=1-1&keywords=8gb%2Bddr4&th=1
And a motherboard perhaps ?

I guess if I go with the better CPU and More ram i won't need want to spend extra on an ATX, it's not really needed anyways. In your opinion do you think it is worth it going with that new CPU and RAM for the extra bit of money. i'm assuming it will be alot more future proof and faster ?
Also that Ram isn't in stock for sometime. would https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CT8G4DFS8213-Single-288-Pin-Memory/dp/B00MMLUZ2I/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1485983921&sr=1-1&keywords=8gb%2Bddr4&th=1 suffice ?

I see. Probably not worth the £52 risk i guess. would you be able to find a ram which is maybe a tiny bit more expensive yet compatible if possible. I appreciate your help.

So looking at around and stuff.
CPU - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/xwhj4D/intel-cpu-bx80662i56500
MOBO - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/86rcCJ/asus-motherboard-h110plus
RAM - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/kkL7YJ/kingston-memory-hx421c14fbk28

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HM7Mf7

this is the build i'm most likely going to go with then.
Also the went with the 6500 instead of 7500 because i don't really trust the seller on amazon with the 7500. I only normally purchase stuff that is actually fulfilled by amazon themselves. Also the motherboard I managed to find an ATX motherboard for a good price. what are your thoughts.
