Hey guys!
I have a 2 year old desktop I built myself, running windows 8.1
Specs: Intel Core i7-4770K , GTX 780

Two days ago I restarted my computer, and after it booted the automatic repair sequence began. I have been fiddling with it for a few days now, but just can't seem to get it to work. I don't remember doing anything that would cause the sequence to begin, I deleted a few steam games, not sure now... Anyways,

I've tried booting in safe mode, changing the boot drive, startup repair, BOOTREC & CHKDSK, system restore and repair....

Here's the thing- I have NO safemode points to restart from, and I can't seem to find my CD copy of windows 8.1, so both refresh and reset are no longer options for me. Can you provide some advice? Thanks so much!

Solution
Connect the hard drive to another system to copy your data. A reset IS an option. Get an 8.1 .ISO and perform a fresh install. Microsoft mapped your activation key to your system. It will automatically activate during your install if it's connected to the internet. If not, it will activate after your network driver installs and you connect to the internet.
