Hello! Building a new computer to replace an old amd 8150 build.. I know anything more modern I build will be 10x better! Here is what I have so far... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2LWxWX Please change things around if you know parts that are better than the ones I have selected while still being under $800 of course...
If you change case make sure it's a silent case, this is what I want.

*Don't include rebates, base price only*
**I already have a graphics card and a 2TB harddrive** Card is a gtx 970 if you need to know....

Solution
Cooler and z170 board not required as you dont have an unlocked chip for overclocking. The included stock cooler should be plenty.
M2 drive will be better for cable management.

There are starting to be games that use 7.5gb on thier own if you have enough RAM. If you have 8gb that will be pinched and hurt performance. As cheap as ram is right now I'd definitely get the 16gb build. Also get a z270 board. That board won't natively support the CPU you have listed. It "could" require a bios update which you can't do unless you have a Intel 6*** series processor laying around

Get this...

I would just get those B150 with the BLCK for overclocking.. B150 Hyper would do the trick.

Lots of hassle for people not into it...some of the original shortcomings were never addressed by OEMs properly...

Thank you guys for the help I think I have my build ready to build :) just one last question! I am most likely going to get a Z270 but if I wanted to save some $$ and get a H270 board instead do you think it would be a waste of a K chip and I should just get the non K version with the H270 board or you think it's fine?? I do see the K has better base clock speeds than the non k.. THANKS!!

Oops gave you a -1 by accident Hellfire... Don't know how to quote or reply on mobile.. But um this build is to upgrade from my AMD 8150 build.. and it's going to be used for gaming 1080p and just normal computer stuff like YouTube and Google searches I don't plan on playing intense graphics games on it like battlefield or GTA because I prefer console with those types.. I mostly play games like Elder Scrolls online and story based single player games like the telltale games and open world games like Fallout.. the most graphic intense games will probably be from coming up titles I don't own yet.. ALSO I use it for a small Plex media server for movies and music. And I do like to use emulators for like N64 and ps2...

In that case it would be wiser to have more cores than clock speed. Emulators and server apps will gain more from more cores. Go with my first build with i7 and change the board to H270 is you want.
