PC: i3 Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 preinstalled
I was helping a friend upgrade his PC with a new PSU (450W) and Graphic Card (GTX 1060). Everything seemed to work fine but now will not power on.
We connected a 20+4 pin and 4 pin molex to the mobo. Could these extra 12V connections cause the mobo to break?
Troubleshooting: We checked the PSU and it was fine. We tried jumping the connection around the switch and it didn't work (not a problem with the power switch). The motherboard had an led indicator on so it is receiving power.
Can using both the 20+4 and 4 pin 12V have caused this issue? Is the it more likely the mobo is fried or the CPU?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
