Hi all,

I've had this pc for almost 4 years and haven't had a single problem with it. However, on Saturday I cleaned my PC and everything was going well. I connected everything back to where it was, and screwed in the motherboard a bit tigher as it seemed loose.

Once I had connected the power and everything I turned it on, but got no hdmi signal. I kept trying to unplug and plug it back in, but to no avail. After a few tries I finally got a signal, but the next day the same thing happened. I though the hdmi cable was broken so I decided to buy a new one. Ordered it on amazon and received it today. I plugged in the new cable and still no signal.

I opened the case while the power was still running and noticed the cpu cooler fan wasn't on, even though it's connected to the motherboard and getting power.

Is my motherboard broken?
My case fans work and the hard drive seems to work. As I can hear the windows booting up because I still hear notifications though my headphones.
I'm assuming my gpu isn't getting powered either which is why I get no hdmi signal on my monitor.

Specs to the best of my knowledge:
Amd fx-6300
Amd r9 270x
Corsair cx500
WD Blue HDD 1 tb
Asrock motherboard
Cooler Master hyper 212 EVO

Solution
If you are unable to get the system to work by backing out the motherboard screws try removing the motherboard and setting it up on a piece of cardboard to see if it will power up.

It's pretty hard to tell with stuff like that where everything seems to be failing. Sorry about that though. It may just be that the solder in some connection was old and weak and cracked when you tightened it.
