Is the eVGA one or the gigabyte one better? What about what card will be cooler??? help please what 1050 ti should i get. (ignore the msi question id just get rx470} C:

thanks for help
and i am gona manually overclock

Solution
Basically what you are paying extra for in the more expensive ones is the cooler and user support. The more expensive ones will generally run cooler by a few degrees at most. If you are OCing and don't care about those couple degrees, go with the cheapest 1050 Ti.

It all depends on how much they cost at any given moment. What prices are you seeing for those cards? In terms of value, the 460 is good if you can find it cheap enough (<100) but the performance is pretty limiting even if it's a great deal. The 1050 can sometimes be found at about the same price and it's decently faster than the 460 in specific games, though only 2 GB VRAM. The 1050 ti charges a premium over the 1050, I think mainly because it's the best card you can get without an additional power connector. Then as you noted, there's the 470 which is a huge jump in performance. It just depends if you can find the card on sale at a price you can afford.

Personally, I think the 470 is worth it in order to hit minimum frame rates. A great deal isn't so great if a game still isn't unplayable. If you're patient you can find them ~150, right now Newegg's best offer is $169.99 (+$3.99 shipping) with a $15 rebate. I've seen it lower as recently as last week however.

I would compare it to buying a car. If you are buying an economy car for $20k, it's dumb in my opinion to then pick options on that car that take the price to $28k. If you're going to do that, just buy the $30k car that's superior in every way and already comes equipped with most of those options.

Now if you're buying a $140 videocard, do you really want to buy the higher end one that costs $165? Generally no, you might as well buy the superior $170 videocard then(RX 470). In the case of this videocard, there could be the exception if you need a card that does not require the 6 pin connector, then the 470 is not an option. Even then, I'd get the $140 1050 Ti and not the more expensive one.
