Who said that? No thats ridiculous. You may not be playing games at maxed out settings 60fps by the time next year rolls around, but that system will play games at respectable setting and framerates for at least a few years. I have a 1060 system as well with a weaker cpu and I am able to play really any game 1080p 60fps or close to it mostly maxed out, your system would likely perfom better than mine does. You wont reach 144fps to take advantage of your 144hz monitor in many games unless they are older of not very intensive, but that does not mean your build was a mistake.

Your build is fine. It's a bit odd with non K series CPU, High wattage but low(er) efficiency PSU, Lots of ram and high end 144Hz monitor yet a non Z series board. The answer of course is that you are using parts you already had so it's not a big deal. But someone looking at a straight parts list might wonder why you made some of those choices. You might not have the power for 144Hz in all games, even now, but you'll do fine with that build.

They don't need a cooler like the H5 with a locked cpu that cant be overcloked, it would be a waste of money regardless if the M9i cools better and gets better reviews.
