I just need some advice from people who are knowledgeable in electrical stuff. See I have 1 PC probably 250 -300 watts. I'm planning on buy 2 more so that is three 300 watts PC. The problem is I only have two 2pronged electrical outlet in my room. What should I do so that I can use that 3 PC's at the same time. Does using a power strip a bad idea? Like I plug one power strip to the wall socket then plug all my PC on the power strip. I read somewhere where a guy said he plug 10 PCs on a powerstrip. Not sure if he was serious. By the way I'm from Philippines, I believe the electricity in the Philippines is 220 volts. Hope someone give some good/professional advice. Thanks

Good (grounded) power strip should be OK. Most household circuits are rated for at least 20 amps, with outlets for at least 10 amps. This means you can easily power all of your three PCs (1000Watts, over 220 volts, will pull about five amps) from single outlet without any additional problems.

I would make sure that the outlets are grounded, and well connected. If you plug an electric heater / your mom' curling iron / hair blower and the plug remains cool on touch, you'll be OK.

Thanks for the reply. Btw what does grounded mean? Can I go to an electrical shop and buy that or do you need and electrician to install it? My power strip says it is 350watts. Does that mean all the the plug can only handle 350 watts or does it mean each plug can handle 350 watts?

I don't know what kind of plugs / outlets are used in your country, but generally, an outlet has three wires: Live, neutral and ground. WHile "ground" is not necessary for normal operation (you'll see a lot of applicances with two-prong plugs), it is essential for user protection against electrical shock.

You'll be probably safer asking some local with knowledge. If your house electrical installation is very old, it might not provide for separate ground wire.
