For some reason, I can't enable XMP on my GIGABYTE GA-Z97-HD3 motherboard. This isn't a system-crippling issue by any means, but I would really like to get my RAM running at the full advertised 1866 MHz instead of the standard DDR3 speed of 1600 MHz.

In GIGABYTE's SmartTweak, the option to enable XMP is grayed out under both the Frequency and Memory tabs, and the option to enable XMP doesn't even show up at all in the Classic Mode view. Could this be because I have a non-K Intel CPU?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

What is your RAM? maybe the RAM don't support the XMP.
Or try clear the CMOS by the jumper first, then boot into the BIOS to check it out again. I had the same MB, and a Xeon cpu. I can use the xmp to up the RAM speed, because I did up the bclk.

Welp, I've just done some Googling and it turns out that Fury HyperX DDR3 RAM (the kind in my system) does NOT support XMP. That combined with the fact that I can't manually set it to run at its advertised speed (or even set the frequency to "Auto") because it makes my system freak out and freeze/shut off means I'll be sticking with 1600 MHz. Thanks for your help, at least. xD
