Hello,
My HTPC stopped turning on completely (no power at all).
I tried turning on by shorting the ON switch pins: nothing.
I tried a different PSU: nothing.
With the second PSU though, I noticed the green light on the PSU and motherboard were blinking. I stumbled upon this post: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/301206-28-build-stand-motherboard-blinking?5890f7ca53267=reload
I followed the steps in the best answer: the light stopped blinking when I only had the PSU connected to the motherboard, without a CPU. I bought a new CPU to test it out, but the new CPU arrived and the light is blinking again. Would that mean the motherboard is the one that's faulty? Maybe something to do with the CPU socket?
I tried two different PSUs (one I know works), and two different CPUs (one is new so unless DOA, works).
Another thing: I'm using a picoPSU 120W board power supply (no fan). Would you think those are reliable enough to keep using? The HTPC ran fine only for a year and half, and I'm wondering if the PSU could be the cause of the crash.
Thanks!
