I'm attempting to transfer some videogame files from my old pc to my new laptop.
The pc is running windows 7 and is connected to my router via a cat 5 cable.
The laptop is connected to the same router via Wi-Fi.
Both computers show greater then 100mbps connections with the router.
Files are transferring at peak rates of 300KBp/s (not even one MB) and go up and down the entire time
I know hard drive speeds can be a bottle neck in home network transfer speeds but the incredibly low speed and jumpy nature of the speed makes me think it's a configuration issue.
Problem is I know next to nothing about router/ Wi-Fi configuration. I'm using windows built in homegroup feature because is was easy but am now stuck
Any input?
