I have had my computer for about three years now, but before that it was bought off of someone else. So basicly, the hardware in my PC isn't close to new except the GPU which I have ugraded twice now and possibly in the near future again. I would like to upgrade my CPU because it's okay, but is bottlenecking my computer at this point when it comes to gaming. I would perfer to not get a new motherboard even though mine is pretty old. I'm planning to play a CS:GO mainly, but various other games as well. What CPU would you recomend if any? Would it just be worth it to start a new build?

Basic Specs:
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270x
RAM: 8GB (not sure of speed)
Mobo: MSI 880g-e45
PSU: 650W Corsair

I really appreciate it.

edit: added PSU

That CPU probably isn't bottlnecking a 270x. It's a pretty balanced build. That's the last good processor AMD made. The only big upgrades would be a switch to Intel which would require a new CPU/board/memory/windows licence.

Personally I'm about to build a new PC myself but I'm waiting on ryzen to see if it's worth checking out

Alright. Well, I guess I'll have to start for a new one. I'll wait with you as AMD say's ryzen line will be a better bang for your buck than intel. A little dissapointed that I'll have to start new, but I decided to buy a PC when I knew little about upgradability.

Thanks for the help.
