So as the title states I had 1070 and just decided to return the 1070 and buy an open box 1080 strix from Microcenter for 565 dollars.
I have literally just swapped out the cards and am running off of the gtx 1080 strix right now.
I haven't updated drivers because NVidia experience is saying my drivers are up to date. Which they are as of 1/23/17. I haven't had any hiccups playying youtube at 1080hd and I am about to start running some gaming benchmarks.
Was the swap so seamless because I had a 10xx series Nvidia and the exact same Manufacturer and model??
Should I still delete drivers and reinstall anyways? If no issue arises should I just use as if nothing changed? Just wondering because I have swapped cards before though that was an Nvidia to an AMD based card and obviously then I had to wipe drivers and reinstall correct drivers.
I have never had a hardware swap go this easy so therefore I am wary and asking you if I did it right LOL!!!
