Can I use a router with my Comcast gateway?

I want to get a VPN compatible router for my wireless network. Do I have to get a new modem as well or can I use the Comcast gateway?

Ah. well first i would try to see if you can even login. Sometimes the ISP don't allow you in on these routers.

If you can't get in, call up your ISP, tell them you want to use your own router, and then to put theirs in bridge mode. Then all you should have to is plug your's into their router.

if you can get in then we can look up how to put it in bridge mode.
