Will an AM3 processor work in an AM3+ Socket Motherboard?

So basically I bought an AMD Phenom ii (2) X6 1055T processor at goodwill for $5. It was new in box. Anyways, fast forward a couple months and I buy an old Alienware Area 51 with a dead graphics card in it for $35. I can't find a cheap replacement card, and besides that idk if there's anything else wrong with it. So I decided to upgrade it from its older Pentium 4 to the Phenom, problem is I can't find a motherboard with am3 socket, but I did find an AM3+ socket motherboard. My question is: Would the Phenom ii work in an AM3+ socket motherboard?

Yes it will work fine in a AM3 plus motherboard with no problems because its not going into a AM2 motherboard and great find I wish i found a deal like that where I live good job.

All you need to do is check the motherboard's CPU Support List (found on every motherboard's support web page) to make sure the processor is listed as supported. A BIOS update may be required.
