Hey everyone,

I'm in a bit of a pickle.
Short story: I burnt/melted a component on my laptop motherboard and need help identifying what it is. It's an Asus Zenbook UX31E.

Long story: I was re-applying some thermal paste and I figured I might as well give it a good cleaning while it's open and tighten up the hinge that's been loose since a repair visit some year ago. To my surprise, there's a bunch of electrical tape smushed in the corner where the DC jack is. Now I took the laptop to a repair shop for random shutdowns and the screen flickering and I've learnt a lot since then to know that the '"repairman" didn't replace any component or do anything else he said he did. "Repairman" basically just put down some electric tape to stabilize the videocable in a 'sweet spot' so the screen wouldn't flicker. I took the tape off temporarily to get to the hinge screws and unplugged the videocable to avoid damaging it. After I was done with the hinge I put everything back the way it was (tape included) but as soon as the videocable came in contact with the mobo it sparked and the tape burned glowing and smelled (I didn't know that the screen had phantom power). I freak out thinking I've fried something so I pull off the tape and turn the laptop on. Everything was functional but the screen flicker was back so I fiddle with the vidcable to get it into that sweet spot again but to no avail.
I figured reseating the cable might fix the issue so I turn the power off and unplug it. When I plugged in the cable again I saw something glow underneath the motherboard and the same smell of burnt rubber. It turns out that I missed some tape and the wonderful "repairman" had put even more tape under the DC jack on the bottomside of the motherboard. I freaked out again and disassembled the entire laptop and pulled the mobo out. I remove the last bit of tape, reassemble the laptop and turn it on. Now the screen backlight is shot and I think it's because of 'spark NO.2' that's melted a component. I suspect it might be a fuse. It looks like 2 blobs of solder. See the pictures for a clearer image.

Any help's much appreciated. I'm selling this laptop and it kinda factors in if I'll be able to make rent this month haha ha... don't know why I'd share that.

Anyways, Thanks in advance :)
