So Im curious as to what GPU I should buy between Saphire RX 470 for $170, XFX RX 480 4GB for $200 or MSI GTX 1060 6GB for $275. I can afford all three of them but dont know which one is the best bang for buck. Im opting toward the RX 470 but Im biased towards Nvidia because of talk of AMDs driver issues, power draw and heat. Where I live its pretty hot out (about 80ºF average) so maybe the GTX 1060 6GB is best for me? I plan to game at 1080p not necessarily high to max settings but 60 fps is a must to me. The heat is my main concern... I would like to keep the card until 2018 summer or 2018 winter.

Thanks

Whatever heat issues there were have since been fixed, so not a problem. Plus, if you're worried about heat in your system, I'd worry more about your CPU temps than the GPU.

What about the heat though? Isnt that a concern? Especially in my hot country (80ºF average)?

For graphics both the rx 480 and the gtx 1060 deliver excellent performance at 1920x1080 with detail settings maxed out. Believe it or not, AMD's drivers for the RX 480 has improved a lot. Last year July the gtx 1060 has 12% advantage over the RX 480 on average across DX11 titles at 1080p. Now the gap is down to 2%. For DX12 and Vulkan titles, RX480 now holds a 6% lead over GTX1060.

Talk of AMD's cards heat continues and has been greatly exaggerated even until now. How long do we have to keep this up?

Very well. Thanks. That $75 is better spent on games rather than ~10 fps
