So i got my GPU out to send it to warranty and i got also my powersupply out and i saw this its an 400w continuous unit but it is advertised as 530w could that be the reason for my graphics card artefacts (the guy before me was using a 750w corsair power supply and he had no problems )

Ok in theory that PSU should power the R9 280x properly.

PSUs cannot cause artifacts, thats definitely a problem with the GPU itself. If you're getting a new one under warranty then that should fix it.

That PSU is not the highest end unit but from what I can find on it is not a fire starter either. I would consider replacing it with a better quality one, but I don't believe it to be the cause of your problems.
