Hey Guys! I've been doing some research on the linux based distro's.

Some background knowledge: I've used a few distro's such as Ubuntu & Kali Linux. I've enjoyed both of them, however I've used Windows for the majority of my life. I'm going for my masters in Computer Security at a local college.

I've created a list on why I should use Fedora Linux as my daily use of OS on my custom built Desktop & Lenovo laptop. I do have a few questions, I do apologize in advance if the question's seem a little stupid.

Question 1: Should I use on my desktop Kali Linux daily since the Operating System is more pushed towards Security. I would mainly be doing browsing and papers using LibreOffice for now.

Question 2: My current Graphics Card is the GTX 1050Ti 4GB, Does this have support for Linux? My steam library is very small at the moment, so my games (Skyrim, Batman Arkham Origins, & GTA 4) are they playable on Linux? I have used Wine before for a few client's trying to run some Office 2016 on Ubuntu.

Question 3: I have a 256GB SSD & a 500GB HDD. When installing Fedora Linux, I'll be putting it on the SSD. How are the boot up times on Fedora

I'm sure I'll have more questions in the near future but these are only the basic ones. I've been wanting to get away from Windows since there privacy is terrible, and there the most targeted OS for viruses. So anonymity for me is very important, and Linux I know has a great reputation for it.

I'd appreciate all suggestions!

Thanks!

Question 1: Should I use on my desktop Kali Linux daily since the Operating System is more pushed towards Security. I would mainly be doing browsing and papers using LibreOffice for now.

Kali linux runs everything as root. If you think that is good security then I have bad news. Kali is for professional pentesters not every day use.

None of the games you listed have native ports but gta and skyrim work well with wine.

Fedora will boot in a few seconds on a ssd.

Your video card will be supported with proprietary Nvidia driver.
