My PC doesn't start when I press the power button. I'm not sure whether it's the PSU or the motherboard.
I came home the other day and smelled that something is burned.. I pressed the power button and nothing happened (the network card light was on and green). So I let it cool down for a day. on the next day when I pressed the power button the computer showed signs of life for 5 seconds and then powered off. The next time I pressed it, it started working properly but no video output was displayed to the screen.. I thought there might be something wrong with the GPU, but when I pinged the computer from my other computer it didn't work as it always did, so I really don't know what or where the problem is.. I'm thinking it's the PSU but i'm not sure.
Any help will be welcomed :)

Solution
Pull out GPU and RAM and all other stuf and make sure you have speaker/beeper connected to MB. type of beeps should tel you what is missing. Once you know you have working PSU and you get down to just processor in the MB and no beeps, you'll know it's MB at fault.
