i have a MSI G41M-P26 motherboard,Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz,2gb ram,win 10 enterprise 64bit...
recently i bought a 250gb ssd (samsung 750 evo) and a 2tb hard drive [Seagate Barracuda 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5" Internal Bare Drive (ST2000DM006)]..the ssd is working just fine but the hard drive seems to be faulty because it shows only 128gb in disk management but in bios shows 0mb..also the disk on boot shows 3rd master hard disk error and in win 10 it is not shown in my pc..i just wanted to know that will my motherboard supports 2tb hard drive or not? if yes then can i use it with my ssd ? any kind of help will be appreciated..

Solution

See the highlighted in your quote, if you want to use windows 10 "64" bit and have the os recognize all of the drives correctly.
You will need 4gb of ddr3 memory at 1333mhz https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820239353
Once you do that properly the os will see all of your hard drive space.

https://livecdlist.com/opensuse/
Use this live cd, boot up with it with your 2tb seagate hdd connected only, see if suse 11 will detect the drive and show the correct amount of space.
If it does not do this you will need to call this company and ask for rma replacement service.
Make sure...

Make sure to have your digital receipt ready for verification and have your facts right so it'll take 1 or 2 phone calls to get the problem fixed up.

thankx for your help maikutech and calvin7...
but i have already returned the hard drive and requested for a replacement.. i have noticed that during boot up the drive spins and makes an unusual clicking sound but after that no spinning..i have also noticed in disk management that it shows only 128gb but when i tried to initialize the drive as it shows cannot be done due to an I/O error.. bdw i bought the hard drive on amazon.in and thought that the hard must be faulty..

I don't know for sure if this is the right answer, but it sounds like that lga775 mobo is having problems reading hardware correctly.
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Use this and then go to "this pc" in windows 10, look at drives that are hooked up and look at hwmonitor to see if both show the same thing.
If your samsung 250gb is there it should read 248.00 gb and whatever space is left, hwmonitor will say the samething with ssd name tag.
If its not the samething that windows 10 is playing, yeah it is a I/O error, I don't know if msi technicians will help you because its pretty dated.
Call them and ask for their help: https://us.msi.com/about/contact-us

i have used hwmonitor and it shows the samsung 250 gb ssd correctly...i have seen that sometimes the 2tb hard drive is detected by hwmonitor and sometimes not..i have also test my pc with the ssd and another wd 500gb hdd this time it showed no error and booted up normally..in the disk management it showed the right amount of space i.e 465gb i have also tested it with a dvd drive and ssd the it has no problems..i don't think that my mobo has any issues..

Here you go this one is local to you, since it costs 95.00 US dollars it shouldn't be too much to afford 6355 rupees.
Check amazon.in for western digital drives like the last link I showed you.
Western digital blue in the sizes of 500gb - 2tb for day to day desktop uses does way much better on speed and reliability.
if seagate didn't have a manufacturing problems they admitted to with their hard drives I would still be using them years later.
