My Realtek wifi adapter is not enabled. I've tried several drivers from 2015 through 2017 to enable. No luck.
Asus tech support advises that the wifi card does support hosted Network, but can't supply the driver that would enable this. Realtek 8821AE PCI-E NIC in a Intel I7 pic. I'm trying to create a wifi hotspot from my pc

What version of Windows are you running? While you can create an ad hoc network using either static addresses or ICS, which controls the addresses, the best solution for flexibility is to run Connectify (not freeware) as it allows great flexibility and is similar to setting up a router in its capabilities and security.

Your wireless adapter driver is needed just to use the device but is of no particular help in setting up a hotspot.
