my current rig is
i5 3470
gtx 1070
8gb single channel ram
i get fps drops on high setting and usually get around 45-60 fps on a 64 players map (anything less than 64 players i get smooth 60 fps on ultra).. will upgrading to an i7 3770(k or non K) allow me to play the game on ultra @ 60 fps. I dont want to waste my money if it isnt worth it. thanks in advance

Looking at this should give you an idea of how much an i7 improves performance over an i5 of the same generation (not much, other than higher clocks). If you want to upgrade, you will need to make a bigger leap.

you see the main issue i am facing in battlefield 1 is my CPU bottle necking my gtx 1070 in 64 players multiplayer map.. they say that the i7 3770k is on par with the i5 6600k so i was hoping that upgrading to the i7 would relieve the bottle necking and give me 60 fps.. do you still think that the i7 wont be able to do that unless i get somthing like 6700k

Looking at the 6600k vs the 6700k, which is .4Ghz faster, there isn't a huge leap in performance, though now that I look closer, the minimums do show a pretty nice improvement with HT, which an i7 would give.

That said, I'm not sure moving up on the same platform is the best use of your money.

just got the i7 3770k and now i am getting stable 60 fps @ 1080p (99% of the times). seems it was bottle necking my gtx 1070
