i7-4790k better than i7-7700k ??

so i just upgraded from an i7-4790k to an i7-7700k
and from 1600mhz ram to 3000mhz ram , so i benchmarked my new cpu and here are the scores (btw this is my own benchmark in cs go)

on the i7-7700k = 950 avg , 217 minimum
on the i7 -4790k = 1500 avg , 650 minimum

how is this possible ?
even thought i tried other benchmarks and all of them tell me that the kaby lake chip is better but for some reason i get lower fps in cs go ???? help ?

The FPS drops in CS are most likely due to the new maps like the inferno remake.

I'm trying to take this seriously, so...did you have an OC on your 4790k? What's the 7700k running at? If you're not OC'ing, it may not be stressing the CPU enough for Turbo Boost to kick in. It could even be running in a power saving mode at a reduced frequency.

Good point actually I can't even hit 300fps on csgo with my i7 7700k, even low settings and really low res changes nothing, probably something I'm missing but oh well not bothered, don't need more frames than your monitor refresh rate anyway.

Put it this way, with a 6700k at 4.8GHz and a 1080 I still only get something like 180fps maxed on Inferno at 1440p.

@lopperuk you sure that you don't have your fps capped at 300? I play on 1080p medium textures with a 4670k at 4.5 and I'm over 300fps almost all the time. Even on Inferno I'm at 200+ 99% of the time.

fairly high temps for a 1.27 v but less than 85

cinebench for example, puts a load on the cpu and see how fast and how well it did perfom

my laptop with a a8 gives 175 cb on that test

if you compare it with a older or with less cores cpu you will see a performance reduction and more time, also less cb points

this test is pretty simple, you can run other tests, like compress or decompress a 1 gb file with 7zip or something like that, usually newer cpus will finish faster than older cpus

the last 3 or 4 years of intel cpus hasn't changed much and numbers hasn't changed on those test much

the temperature mentioned can do the performace decrease while gaming, also problems with the gpu driver itself

I'll stick to my 4790K. Very little improvement is seen from the 4790K and DDR3 versus the 7700K and DDR4.
