Any idea on what I should be needing here?
I've followed most guides and people say Adaptive is what I'd want - Basically I'm trying to set the core voltage to something like 1.15-1.18 as the Auto configuration is supplying way too much voltage that isnt' needed -
example -

If I change to adaptive/offset mode or even adaptive, or just any mode in general it always stays static and the voltage does not lower to something like shown in the image above for the minimum, just constantly will stay at that voltage.

The motherboard I have is an MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard, Intel i7 4790K.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks.

What voltage is supplied then? Have you tried updating your bios to the latest? I believe z97 adaptive mode had issues during launch release as certain bios version were buggy.
Link to download the bios versions:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z97-GAMING-5.html#down-bios
If you are not sure how to update, look at your motherboard's manual as there will be a section tell you in...

I guess what I'm trying to do as showing above with my motherboard settings is lower the core voltage? so that the VID is not requesting so much as it currently is.
