I'm building a new computer for my mother with the Asrock Z170 Pro4S and a i5-7500 but it will not post. After some troubleshooting I found that the motherboard shipped with bios version P3.50 and the kaby lake cpu is not supported until version P7.30. Unfortunately I do not have access to a skylake processor to facilitate an update. I tried to contact Asrock support to see if they could send me a bios chip with the newer update but I received an automated response stating they will not be back until 02/08 due to the Lunar New Year.
Does anyone know of a way to upgrade my bios without skylake CPU? I ordered my motherboard from Newegg. What are the chances of getting them to send me a replacement with the updated BIOS? Or should I just return it and get a new motherboard(I'd rather not do that).
