So, I've been playing some games and, I'm not really sure but I think i should be getting a little bit more fps.

This is my pc bellow:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JQt6m8

My PSU is a MAXPOWER 550w

I have a 144hz monitor as well, and the temp goes arround 50-68

I don't really know what's happening, I've played games on minimum, like Overwatch getting 100-150fps, Counter-Strike Global Offensive getting arround 150-180 sometimes it drops bellow but i think that's the avarage, sometimes some drops and Dota 2 look fine, But is it weird?

I built this pc myself with some research and i dont really think its bottlenecking but im not sure if it is the mobo or the psu??

If you need some more explanation just ask me.

Thanks in advance!

I have a 1000 w power supply on a 460 w build. The highest efficiency peak of my psu is right around that. Means less heat and a higher power in/out ratio. Also means longer life because you're not putting the power supply at max load all the time. It would be like constantly flooring the accelerator on a car. You're stressing the system.

Don't fall for the fad of dual channel ram isn't better. It might not be a whole lot better but it makes a difference on the bottom line fps, load times, and average fps.

You're expanding the computers ability to access it's memory by effectively opening another door.
The image below shows just under double the read write capacity. There's a slightly higher latency but you've given more maneuver...

Sometimes yea, but i actually find it to be consistant between 120-150fps.

But for example yestarday i was playing overwatch with 100 and it was driving me insane, but now its better again got some space on my ssd and cleaned a lot of things on the computers but the frames are still 140 with all in low settings

My psu doesnt even show up on that website haha
but its this one lol http://www.nanochip.pt/pt-PT/p/55814/MAXPOWER-550W-Fonte-de-Alimentacao-Ventoinha-120mm_MAXPOWER550W120MM.htm

I Just noticed it seems like my psu has only "real 280w" and can be upgraded to 550w ahmm

You gotta translate the website btw :\

Kind of unbalanced build (why pair a K processor with a locked motherboard? :S) But it should work fine. 100fps at minimum settings in Overwatch seems a little bit weird. U only have 1 stick of ram so you are not getting the benefits of running RAM in dual channel. I can't say without seeing it first person but it seems to me that your performance is in line with the build that u have (as long as u dont have stuttering/frame drops/etc.).
Also, that PSU gives me the creeps. But in the PC world, something either works or doesn't work, so... I don't know.
Which resolution are u running ur games at?

To answer some of your questions:

I too have noticed noticeably lower FPS in CSGO. It's just not the best right now, it's getting harder to run.

HDMI does NOT support 144hz at 1080p. You need dual link dvi or DP to run it.

I guess, I don't even understand what it says in portuguese, but basically said "Real power 280w/Peek power 550w" what can i expect from an old psu that was 28€, so weird

Do you think its going to be worth it to buy a new psu and ram, i mean u think I will get a good performance?
And if yes do you think it will increase by like 200fps or should i get psu, ram and a new motherboard overall, do you think the motherboard could be the problem?

Because if yes i might as well just buy it bc im building a new pc anyways to give to sister so the old parts are for her lel

Dual-channel RAM is not gonna make any difference in games. Google it.
If you're building a new PC, don't get a "K" CPU without a "Z" motherboard.
Get dual channel, it's almost the same price. The only drawback here is if you have 2 slots it's gonna occupy all of them, in this case get only 1 stick, however upgrading RAM can be a pain, there's no guarantee that two sticks not bought in a kit will work together.
A good PSU is a must.

Imma build the pc with the old parts haha, btw i got this cpu bc to me it looked like the best cpu for the price i found and the motherboard i asked a friend since i dont really understand much about motherboards but i wasnt thinking about overclocking anyways neither was he so he said this board would be good enough for the prices as well haha.

But yea thanks for everyones input on this ill get a psu as soon as possible and update u all with this

Update: another user on this forum just had this same issue and has rectified it by getting a second ram stick and turning on dual channel ram. This is tested and true to have a performance difference in gaming in higher end computers and intensive games
