PSU to MB, can I connect two 4-pin to 8-pin EAXT12v?

My motherboard has an 8-pin EATX12v power connector as well as the 24-in. My problem is with the 8-pin EATX12v connector.

My PSU has a wire with two 4-pin connectors at the end labeled CPU. Can I combine these two to form one 8-pin?

Here are some pics to show what I am talking about. HUGE thanks to anyone who can help!

if you are asking about the 8 pin psu cable that goes into the cpu connector on the mainboard, it is supposed to be used there, both

some pus will require all 8 pins

on other mainboards the cpu only requires 4 pins, that is why you can separate the first four from the last group of pins

join the 8 pins and connect it, otherwise the cpu will not get power as it should and surely will not even boot
