Since Minecraft mainly uses just one core, would this be a good choice for high performance, especially due to the fact that it can overclock (and is also cheaper than the 2-3 CPUs that top it).

Would anyone have any baseline for how many players I could handle/with a lot of plugins?

General discussion about the 7350K & Minecraft welcomed

That would be a great performing system for a Minecraft Server, you'll have to consistently monitor the performance just for a few hours with 10+ players if you can and see how the CPU usage is.

It definitely would be a proficient setup though. It's a dual core so it MAY struggle at points since it is technically a bottleneck and everything else will do more of the work. The SSD's & RAM will keep up without a doubt.

It's primarily down to the RAM, it's commonly known to install the server on another system which is not on your main system. This ensures that the resources being used are SPECIFICALLY for the server.

The i3 will be fine but it won't be great for a massive server if you don't have the correct amount of RAM, you also need a good internet connection if you're hosting depending on the amount of players.

Let's say you had 12 players, this would be perfectly fine if you had a good internet connection & 8GB RAM with the i3.

It's just trial and error really, RAM & internet connection are two main factors.

Ram is easy, I'm just going to throw 32GB or so in there so it'll be enough for pretty much ever.
Internet Speed is difficult to locate (Australia...) but not impossible.

Saying that I have 32GB of ram, a nice SSD raid setup and a 100/100 connection, would the i3-7350K bottleneck it/how would general performance be, do you think?
