Would the Cablemod 6+2 extensions work with an 8 pin gpu

6+2 is 8-pin, in fact almost all PSUs provide 6+2 configuration because they are more flexible than 8-pin would be (you can use it for 6-pin GPU if you leave 2 pins unconnected and 8-pin if you use all of the pins).

It should work, however make sure your PSU is up to the task. Which graphics card and which PSU model are you using?
