I am trying to update the Bios on my Gateway DX4860-UB33p desktop. They give two choices on the gateway site: BIOS- UEFI for windows 8 (not for upgrades) Version P11.A3
and BIOS-(for device with Ivy Bridge & USB 3.0 Supported) Version 03.A3

The problem is I have a Intel Core i5-2320 cpu and it has a Sandy Bridge but, I also have USB 3.0. I have Version American Megatrends Inc. P02-A2, 10/31/2011 BIOS install now.

Which Version should I use?

Solution
I guess its possible that your bios website published the BIOS during Ivy Bridge era.
According to Wiki "Ivy Bridge processors are backwards compatible with the Sandy Bridge platform,...."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivy_Bridge_(microarchitecture)
The BIOS numbering P02-A2 would suggest using P03.A3
Normally, BIOS firmware will state something like "Your BIOS family is not compatible with this version" if its the wrong family.
So, I cannot give you a conclusive answer, but offer some evidence to consider.

On the website there is an "ACER Updater" application for Win 7 64 bit for DX4860 that may contain a BIOS updating thingy that you might want to try.
