The case i have is a Corsiar 300R, I matched the pins up to the diagram it showed in the user guide and it didn't work. I've tried multiple combinations and I can't get at least the power switch to work. Please help, thanks.

It did not power on by touching the two pins with a screwdriver, the motherboard is brand new, but the power supply still works too because the motherboard is lighting up when i flip the switch on my power supply. is there a way to find out what the exact problem is? Thanks.

Remove all the parts from the case and connect only the minimum, cpu, cooler, ram.
Connect your monitor to the integrated motherboard output.
That will eliminate a case short as the issue.
Double check that the 24 pin and the 4/8 pin power is securely plugged in and latched.
Your motherboard should have a led that tells where in the startup you are. Does that say anything.

If no joy, try a different known good psu.

Likely, it is a defective motherboard. It does happen.

I unplugged everything and left the minimum in, nothing comes up on the monitor nor does the computer turn on when i press the "start" button on the motherboard. Only the RGB LED's on the motherboard are on when i flick the switch on the power supply. Im gonna make a run to best buy and get a new PSU 850W and see if thats the issue. If that doesnt fix it then i guess i got a brand new broken motherboard from amazon, Great.
