This is the second time I've posted this and I got no response.

My computer that I have I built myself about 8 months ago. It has a problem just since yesterday that it automatically after a few minutes of booting into linux, the usb ports don't get power and the monitor is frozen, but the fans are still running and my leds are still working. It also occasionaly reboots by itself.
I think it's a psu problem but I wanted to ask you guys first before buying a new psu. I'll list my specs.

CPU - i3-6100
GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 950
PSU - Cougar RS 550
RAM - DDR4 2133 mhz 8GB of Transcend and 8GB of Kingston ram
MOBO - MSI B150M-Pro VDH

so what do you think the problem is? I try doing memory tests, but it shuts down/freezes before it can finish.

If the system reboots abruptly and without even being subjected to load, then it's a PSU problem. I can't speak for the OS though :) You could try and bread board the system without the GTX950 and see if the system goes to GUI in Linux. If the system refuses to boot with a discrete GPU in there, then it's definitely the PSU. RMA it.
