Ok so first of all I wasnt sure whether to ask this question in the GPU thread or in the Laptop General discussion thread since this is a question regarding my brothers gaming laptop.
So in 2015 my little brother got an asus gaming laptop for christmas.
It has a gtx 960m(not sure whether its 2 or 4gb), an i-6700HQ and 8GB DDR4 Ram.
I realized that every game he plays runs laggy and stutters.
Of course you can't expect a gtx 1080 performance but I still think a 960m should get you more than 30 fps in League of Legends and more than 35 in Minecraft (with Optifine).
The drivers are all installed and up to date and the 960m is the primary gpu (instead of the intel hd graphics).
I feel really sorry for him because he can barely play with such a performance.

1) Go into Nvidia control panel, make sure the nvidia GPU is set to be used for them programs
2) Make sure you have the power adapter connected, as it will use the intel gpu.
3) Make sure the power profile while your on AC power is set to High performance, in the windows power settings.
4) Make sure the laptop is on a hard surface and has good airflow when trying to game.
