Deciding on the best router for my home

Hey guys, so I recently moved and now I can't have a direct wired connection to my PC. I was thinking of getting between the RT-AC87u or the RT-AC88u (I know, I know, they're not even remotely in the same ballpark but bear with me for a bit). The thing is, I value stability and range much more than raw speeds and (from what I've gathered) the AC88u is better in both departments. BUT, I also, if possible, don't want to spend a ludricrous amount of money on just a router. My PC is about 5-7m from where I'm going to put the router and I have the PCE-AC68 card on it. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I can't hard wire anymore, that's why I'm asking. You think €270 (used) is worth it for it? The AC88u I mean.

It's €314 brand new on Amazon here (tax and shipping incluided). Is that price with or without tax? I don't think Newegg ships internationally and even if they did, it would be astronomical. I should say also that it's €270 refurbished by Amazon. I don't know if that makes any difference but I thought I should point it out.

As I said I can't do wired anymore. As for the powerline, I did consider but I almost never heard good things about them. Connections dropping, slow speeds, and the like. Albeit, that was for "older" models. Are these good now?

"Slow speeds" is a relative term. 50Mbit consistently is fairly common. They can be susceptible to noise on the power causing problems. The AV2 MIMO standard is the latest. These adapters use all three conductors of the electric outlet.
