I have an older system, with an ASUS P5Q-e board in it running my media server. Debated upgrading but, never had problems with it so, just going to the replace the power supply.
Has a BFG power supply, lifetime warranty, but sadly the company is no more. Shame too, they made great stuff. Power supply still works, just super noisy for the first 10min at startup.
Board specs say
24-pin ATX Power connector
8-pin ATX 12V Power connector
I'm on NewEgg.ca looking for a replacement, and I see in the filters 20pin, 24pin, 20+4pin, but nothing about the 8pin part. I see something about 12v rails... not sure if the same thing?
What do I need to look for in terms of specs on the power supply?
Ideally, I'd like to get this one... which when I do decide to build a new system, I can use there as well.
