How to tell if v5-571g motherboards compatible with v3-571?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and keyboard if possible in my acer V3-571-6447. It seems that the keyboard for the V5-571g is the same, except for the backlighting.

I know that not all motherboards will power the keyboard so I might end up with a backlighting keyboard that will never light up. How can I tell if this motherboard is either the same as as the V5-571g version or compatible with the keyboard from the V5-571g motherboard?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. It seemed more like a motherboard question than a keyboard question. Also, I'm still very new at this so don't be afraid to give too much information!

Thanks!

Um, no, not really. Keyboards are USB, so any USB recent port should work. Pretty much the only USB port that might have trouble would 1.0 or 1.0a, and that is going back to the late 90s. USB 2.0 and up can deliver power to a keyboard for lighting.

Sorry thought those were desktop models. Motherboard threw me off.

Going to have to still say that it is likely a re-form factored USB interface. But I would hope the hardware itself would be able to control the power to the backlights. I doubt they would have exceeded the power standard of the flexi-cable they used.

That was my thought. I watched a disassembly video for a v5-571g and it's attached the exact same way. I just had read in a few different spots that the motherboard might not have enough power somehow. Maybe I was just reading older threads and that's no longer an issue. Either way I'd want to know for sure or have a very good idea of how to make sure it would work before spending $30-$50 on a keyboard that may end up being exactly what I have now haha. If my keyboard died I would be more inclined to just wing it and see what happened.

Baring some lack of foresight on their part, it might be worth a try. I doubt they would have gone to the trouble of creating two power circuits across similar models. Would make more sense to make a standard and transplant that design from PCB to PCB, easier on their part laying machines too.

Exactly, common sense would indicate that they would want to make 100,000 of the same parts not 4000 of this kind and 15,000 of that kind etc. The keyboards look 99.5% the same layout (although the enter and the other button awkwardly shoved in beside it/above it do change but it would still fit the exact same).

I'll see if anyone else has some insight on this. Maybe we're wrong in thinking that acer would be as logical as we are hahaha. Thanks!
