Kaby Lake or Sky lake build

Solution
If you do not plan to overclock, the higher stock speeds of Kaby Lake will give you slightly better performance. If you do, it doesn't much matter for performance, although 200-series motherboards will have newer features and/or more of them, like M.2 ports and USB3 type "C" connectors.

If the funds permitted, Kabylake since it's the newest out there and I'm on an APU system which makes the upgrade worth while. If you're on a system that is 2 generations older, you don't have much to gain from the extra spending.
