I was given a computer with windows 7 and I discovered that it had a second hard drive E: I do not need any of the stuff on this drive and I would like to delete or format it so I can start from scratch with a completely empty drive. How do I go about doing this?

Make sure it's not a recovery partition if not , right hand click the HDD and choose quick format.

Make sure there are definitely no system files on it first by disconnecting it then booting up your system to check it works ok.
If it does, just right click the drive in File Explorer and choose format. Alternatively, open Disk Management and right click it there. That simple.
