I've always used AMD video cards.... A long time ago, you used to be able to buy video card that were actually Branded "ATI", this company was later acquired by AMD.... ATI stopped branding cards a while back and now you must chose from an outsourced manufacturer such as Sapphire, ASUS, MSI, etc etc....

So, when an AMD releases a new model of video card, like say the RX 480. it will be the same chip on all the different manufacturers listed above, but with subtle differences... The differences will be in fan style, LED's, over clocking, quality of components, etc etc.... Anyhow, for me, selecting the manufacturer has always been easy... I chose Sapphire for all my AMD video cards because Sapphire was ATI's number one recommended manufacturer......

However, Sapphire does not make NVIDIA cards... So, even though I'm kind of familiar with NVIDA's chipsets (such as GTX 1080), I don't know who the best Manufacturer of NVIDIA cards are.... From the research I've done so far, I keep coming across EVGA..... It also appears that NVIDA also manufacturers and brands their cards, but NVIDIA branded seems like super stupid high pricing in comparison to EVGA.....

Anyhow, anyone here have any feedback about different NVIDIA manufacturers???

There is no right answer MSI/Asus/EVGA/gigabyte are all quality you'd have 4 different people screaming their favorite was the best and some of them could make up a reason why. Truth is they are all quality and all should work for a long time.

I get that, I really do..... I guess I was more seeking opinions....

Really I have it narrowed down to EVGA and NVIDIA direct....

Going with EVGA, I can go with factory water cooling and higher clock speeds. NVIDIA branded, the founders edition card is the same cost, but I can purchase locally....

My current setup is 2 RX 480's in crossfire, but these cards are glitchy.... I want to get my machine ready for Mass Effect - Andromeda.... I play on a triple monitor setup and need a solid card.....

Biggest mistake I ever made was selling my 290x's for these 480's... I've always been a user of ATI/AMD but these dang cards have me seeking alternates.... After all, AMD doesn't even have a release date for the RX 490's.....

So, anyhow.... I'm just looking for opinions....

EVGA or NVIDIA branded?

I've read on a few benchmarking sites that the FE's are loud as well.....

On Turbo blowers, all I ever had was on a pair of ATI HD 3870's.... Them things sounded like vacuum cleaners when the fans were cranked up.... I could seriously hear them through my headphones.....

When it comes to Ref cards, in my experience, if I don't over-clock, they're extremely solid cards..... I personally don't over-clock my cards because in my experience, over-clocking = games crashing... Great for benchmarks, but terrible for real world applications...

The EVGA water cooled card I'm looking at is a factory over-clock edition.... While I've had much better luck with factory over-clocked cards, I remain skeptical.... The card has dual BIOIS and I'm sure I could set a profile to reference clock speeds if stabillity becomes an issue, but like I mentioned, I've had fairly good luck when the card comes OC'd.....

I'm kind of just rambling, think aloud at the moment... Weighing the Pro's and Con's.... Long time ATI/AMD fan so this is tough to make the switch.....
