Need help recording Ps4 Live commentary

So I have an elgato game capture HD and the latest software for elgato. I have my hdmi going from my ps4 to elgato, hdmi going from elgato to monitor, and the usb from elgato to PC just as it should be. I have my headset plugged into my PC and when I record I can only hear game sound from my monitor (obviously because there is no headset plugged into the ps4). What I have tried to do since I do not have an actual mic yet is use my headset plugged into the PC as my mic for the live comm which works well when i record, and then use a different headset to plug into my Ps4 to actually put over my hears to hear game sound while I am playing/recording. However when I have a headset plugged into the ps4 AND the PC the recording no longer picks up the game sound, it only picks up my voice. When the game audio is playing out of my monitor and not a headset elgato picks it up just fine. Sorry if this was complicated but I am really stuck. Also if anyone knows how to fix the delay between audio and video in elgato recordings that would help too. Thanks

From what I can gather when you use the headphone with the PS4 you are pathing the sound into the headset instead of the HDMI (which then runs through the elgato to the PC), when you use the headphones it never makes it into the HDMI.

Isn't this just to help record party chat audio? I just want to be able to hear my game through my headset while im playing it AND in my recording

At that point I dont know too much else on the topic, I can just tell you that the HDMI isnt allowing sound through with a headset.

The PS4 wouldnt output audio through HDMI while there is another source plugged in.
