Would A 1440p monitor increase frames on 1070? Feel like I should be getting more frames.

I might be looking to purchase a high res monitor but I am worried that I won't be able to run the games I like. I am currently running at 1080p

The 1070 seems to have trouble maxing GTA 5, usually get 60 frames sometimes it dips though.
On World of warcraft I usually get around 50 frames in cities and in 25 man raids.
I can only run watch dogs 2 on normal to get steady 60 fps.

Thing is I bought the card thinking I could run games at 1440p but if it can't max out everything at 1080p I am not sure how well it will handle at 1440p.

My set it is the following:
CPU : i5-6500 @ 3.20ghz (4 CPUs)
RAM: 12gb I think its the slowest ddr 4 you can get.
GPU: 1070
PSU: 600 watt 80 bronze certified (I think)
Monitor: LG 2560x1080 resolution. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I am not sure if the frames are normal or If the card isn't getting enough power? I saw videos of the card running at 1440p just fine but I can't even run it at 1080p so I am not sure whats up unless my CPU is bad for the card. I have not overclocked I don't think I can overclock my cpu anyway.
If you need anymore info just drop a comment, and thanks.

You are on an Ultrawide screen, 1080 is just the vertical resolution. 2560x1080 is quite a bit more to push than 1920x1080, around 700,000 more pixels. If this is indeed your resolution you cannot compare benches you see online since they will typically be 1920x1080. Also a 1070 will struggle even more at 2560x1440.
