My new build currently have a 2 x 8 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengence 2400 Mhz Ram in dual channel.
I was thinking of mixing it with 2 x 4 GB DDR3 Corsair XMS 3 Ram.
Is this advisable as i do not want to damage anything as both ram are kinda different.
Is it also more advantageous to have more ram at a lower clock speed or less ram at a higher speed if mixing is possible.

There are no motherboards I know of that have both DDR3 and DDR4 slots. It's keyed differently.

Even if there are boards with both slots it's either or not both.

It's generally never a good idea to mix and match memory kits.
You could install it and see if it works, run a few test etc.
You won't damage anything by doing this, though i wouldn't advise installing low voltage dimms with higher voltage ones.
16GB of memory is plenty for gaming and general computer use, you would only need more for things like video editing.

Oh good catch, I didn't even realize it was completely different kits, so no it won't work.
