Dear forum,

I have a HP proliant ml350 g6.

Currently configured with:
1 Intel Xeon E5520
40gb ddr3 pc3-10600
4x 8gb Micron pc3-10600 ddr3
And 2x 4gb Micron pc-10600 ddr3

How ever since im adding a second E5520 im wondering since the motherboard has 18 ram slots. 9per cpu 3 per channel. If its possible to add ddr3l to a different channel. Ny current memory runs at 1.35 volt to but isnt listed as ddr3l.

I can provide more detailed information upon request. Since im on my phone and using rdp to my server to get specs its difficult to do it now.

Never mix and match ram kits and in this case you should fit load out all slot with DDR3 ram or DDR3L ram not both. DDR3L is 1.35v. DDR3 is 1.5v at the lowest and can go as high as 1.65v(some much older ones being 1.8v). For consistency's sake, the processor you've listed can work with DDR3 ram which leads me to ask, how did you find that the rams you have are operating at 1.35v? Can you pass on a picture of the ram's stickered information?

Further reading. You're going to need ECC unbuffered rams for your server setup.

I used hwinfo to get the details. Right now im not home so i cant show you a photo of the sticks. Speccy says currently running 1.5V hwinfo 1.35. Now after re running them both show 1.5v (posible i missread the first time).

I gues that solves my question. Last thing tough my system is unable to use ddr3L?
