Whenever I go into my BIOS, the readings are 30c (average, yes?). But whenever I use a software like Speccy or CoreTemp they say around 5-20c. I'm looking at CoreTemp right now and it's at 0c! Although it may be because my room is an icebox with no air conditioning in Michigan winters. The CPU is an AMD-FX 8350 OC'ed to 4.2 Ghz

Solution

AMD Overdrive doesn't give you the temperature of the processor; it gives you the thermal margin until it reaches unsafe levels. So 70 deg C thermal margin on idle is normal.

EDIT: may as well leave the obligatory link: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-2122665/understanding-temperature-amd-cpus-apus.html

AMD overdrive temps are through the roof. 70c at idle. Never trusted AMD overdrive, never will.
