Hi,

I always wondered if its possible to changethe drive letter when i messed up somehow and theres already stuff and applications on it... I have it as C,D,E,G and i want the G to be F ... But when i do it through windows partition manager, it says that applications dependant on the partition letter wont work.. like WTH ??? How can a windows on 2017 be still so retarded and stupid and cannot change all files PATHs to the correct one ? ... So im looking for some 3rd party soft maybe ? or any other way ?

thank you !

What is telling you is exactly correct.

Let's assume the OS is on the C drive.
Some applications and other things are on the G drive.

If we change that G to F..."some things" may not work correctly.
Some things...

Some things, being shortcuts that you have made that point to G, other applications that did not write to the Registry that currently point to G, applications that store some settings in their own folder structure that point to G...

Windows can't know 'everything'.
For instance, in my Adobe Lightroom. I have the Lightroom cache file currently aimed at a folder on the L drive.
If I were to change that drive letter in the OS, Lightroom knows nothing about that. ANd will fail in attempting to access something that used to be on the L.

Additionally, when an application is installed, dozens (or thousands) of entries are made to the Reg and elsewhere. All pointing towards that original install location. That location may be wherever you want, but changing it later may cause major issues.

It is warning you that "some things" may not work correctly. As it should.
