I'm new to building computers. I currently have an AMD FX 6300 in my ASrock 970M Pro3 mobo. Would a FX 4350 4.2GHz fit fine into my motherboard?

Well here's the problem and since I'm new I didn't know much about why this was happening. Put the problem has been that I have a 1050 Ti GTX in my computer as of right now, it was supposed to be an upgrade from my 750 Ti. However on one of my games (CSGO) I went from 130-220 FPS to 60-180. I was thinking it was my motherboard and thought It would be better for me to sacrifice two cores for .7 more MHz.
Would that work?

Don't replace the CPU, overclock your current 6300. You may need a aftermarket cooler and there's plenty of guides online that will show you how to do it.
