Evening,

I built my friends PC last night and it has a couple of issues right now.

The biggest issue is that in my Bio's is picking up both ram sticks (both 8GB) but the total memory is 8GB?

Looks like this:

Memory 8192 MB (DDR4 2133mhz)

DRAM STATUS

DIMM_A1 : Corsair 8192MB 2133 Mhz
DIMM_A2 : Corsair 8192MB 2133 Mhz

Specs:
Windows 10 64bit
Intel Core i5 7600K 3.8GHz Kaby Lake Processor
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C
ASUS Z170-A Intel Skylake SLi/CrossFire ATX Motherboard - Black

What's the issue?

Solution
Check if your motherboard support 16 gb of ram. If it supports than may be one of the sticks may be faulty or even one of the slots itself. 1-remove both sticks
2- pick one
3-put it in slot A and start pc
4-put it in slot B and start pc
5-pick the other stick
6-put it in slot A and start pc
7-put it in slot B and start pc

do the checking until you find the fault. but first make sure that your motherboard support more than 8gb of ram
