so I'm about to buy a z270 motherboard from asus ( either the TUF mark 1 or the strix-e or the maximus IX) and i wanted to get the new rgb ram from trident, but in a LTT video about it Linus said that it did not work with most asus motherboards, and i got super confused , is it compatible with the z270 motherboards?

Can you link that video? I dont think its compatible with asus aura software so you cant sync it with other LED's but it should still work. Apparently the default setting is some changing rainbow effect and G SKILL is supposed to be making software so you can customize the color and what not this month.

Quote from PC gamer article: "The default setting for these Trident Z sticks is to display a rainbow of colors in a wave effect. However, G.Skill is working on a software utility that will let users customize the color options and light patterns. G.Skill says the utility will be available in February of next year."

I just bought a STRIX Z270F, same exact board as Z270E but without wifi and its a bit cheaper. So if you don't need wifi I would get the STRIX Z270F. In my opinion the TUF and maximus are too expensive for what you get over the strix boards.

https://youtu.be/scQXZAJ7ohU - my bad i rewatched it, and he actually says that motherboard manufactures other than asus are not yet supported, and yea I'm probably gonna go for the z270 strix. I liked the idea of the TUF motherboard thought it looked cool with the armour, but the strix is probably the better option for me
